I have a Diploma in Information Technology and I'm finishing a degree in New Media Communication, so I work on both sides: I build websites and business systems, and I design, shoot and edit. I care as much about how a system looks and reads as about whether it runs.
A portal for a fibre network operator that handles orders, installations, the helpdesk, monthly billing and a coverage map. A fibre network manager. A production planner a drinks factory uses from the office PC and the factory floor. Before that: UniMate, a student marketplace tested by 33 UniMAP students, and a complaint system for my polytechnic.
The diploma and a city-council IT internship taught me networks, servers and support: LAN and WAN, IP addressing, keeping office systems running. New media added design, photography and film. Every project uses both.
I sit with the people who will use it, build on their real records, and look for the case that breaks it before it goes live. After launch I stay on to fix and improve.
